For a 92 corner initial setup I see these CUC packages online with different things in them, total count of creatures is 100 or more. The LFS here says 20 hermits and 20 snails. Which way should I lean? Is too much a bad thing at the beginning as in not enough junk for them to consume? I just filled the tank, waiting to cycle.

example Reefcleaners 92 corner crew:
120 Dwarf Ceriths
29 Nassarius
29 FL Ceriths
18 large Nerites
14 small Nerites

Yeah, I'd say that's too much for a new tank. The LFS is probably right. I'd start 20 & 20 and see how it goes. Myself, I like the hermits but others dont cause they get hungry and eat your snails.

It would depend on the type of creatures your putting in. 20 snails seems like too little for your tank, if you were going with smaller snails like the ceriths. Knowing what type they would sell you, 20 might work, but you would be better off with a little more variety. I have a 55, and I have way more than 20 snails in my tank. 10 astraeas, 30 ceriths, 20 nassarius, 3 Tonga nassarius, and a conch. I also have about 20 hermits.
I agree you can always start off with less and add more latter.

do 20 and 20 your tank is pretty much brand new there is noting for them to eat really as of yet start small and add as you stock fish/corals
