So I have seen people go out the second their params hit 0 and buy loads of corals... Does adding so many add to the bioload? I know that corals have WAY less of a bioload than fish but is this a safe and ok practice?

It depends on the system bit rule of thumb..........Rome was not built in a day.

Agreed, but with that being said, adding a bunch of coral is much safer than adding a bunch of fish. In fact I am not sure if coral produces any byproduct from photosynthesis. Im sure something is produced, but it is surely minute. Assuming your not feeding your corals, (nearly) no extra waste is being added.

On the downside, a tank that just 0ed out will likely have a decent nitrate spike, which is bad for corals, especially stony corals.
