Pulled this off of RC;

This thread contains data gathered by member Billybeau1. Thanks!

Here is a list of what I measured for the big three in a number of the salt mixes we use today. This is intended as a guideline and I, in no way, guarantee these figures. All I can say is they were all tested under the same conditions, with a number of different brand test kits, using the same methods for each test. I believe these numbers are reasonably what you can expect from these salts mixed at 35 ppt or SG 1.0264 @ 25 C.

So based on these figures and assuming a full reef setup, is anyone going to change which salt they use?

I think I have Instant Ocean right now and am thinking a higher Ca would be good.

Nope, I use what I win in raffles or buy IO or Oceanic.

like i have always thought ( and said) coral life is the best bang for your buck ...wish they would have included salinity though

35 ppt or SG 1.0264 @ 25 C ???

Where do you get CoraLife around here anyhow? Do you need to order it?

+1, I have a big bucket of Seachem AV Salinity and curious about it's profile vs. all these.

We could do our own average readings for the Salinity (maybe if we get enough it could get added to the list), I'll start:

pH: 8.5
Alk: 9.8 dKh
Ca: 433
Mg: 1338
SG: 1.026

I got this info from the "lab certified values" column

Fortunately all three params can be adjusted independently without switching salt mixes.
