Do I have too many tanks going? I have a 50 FOWLR, 46 converting to corals (once I get it drilled), 14 Nano. Should I take on another tank? I am having a major dilema. Looking at a 90 RR, 75 and maybe a 28 Nano. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

I am looking to get one of the 3 tanks not all 3.

This sounds like a question whose answer only you can give. ;) It really depends on your time and $$$ right? Not to mention what you want to accomplish with the new tank.

I agree with Bernout. If you have that kind of money, time and desire, then go for it. I just took down a nano tank to build up a 34g RSM and i've considered bringing the nano back up for the smaller fish that i really like. It's just a lot of work keeping up with topping off, cleaning, and monitorning each tank.

Yes it is a lot of work. But my systems are running really well right now and I want to start getting into corals in smaller setups and then moving to the bigger ones. Its just a tough call....

I'd loose the Nano. THey are the hardest of all to keep going and stable.

I agree, they are a PITA. If you are new to the hobby your best bet is to go with stable easy to maintain systems. Otherwise you can burn yourself out on maintenance and blame the whole hobby rather than placing the blame the PITA! My personal goal is to be able to have tanks that can go at least 3 days without being touched. That way you can still go away for weekends without coordinating a babysitter.

personally, I would say if you already know you want a large tank, get a large tank now and just move everything to that. having multiple tanks turns into a headache when it comes to maint.

Thanks for all the suggestions. After much thought I am going to buy a 90 RR and transfer everything over to that tank. Keep my 46 as a quarantine tank.
